How you look at things determines your reality…
And the emotions you derive from it.
Let me give you an example:
I haven’t seen my parents and my sisters since February 2020..
They live in Eugene, Oregon – 2 hours away.
Once Covid hit, we decided it was best to wait it out for a bit.
(My parents are older and have underlying health conditions)
This has been hard.
I used to visit them every single month.
Every single holiday.
Now it’s been almost a year since I’ve seen them.
It can be easy to bitter about the situation.
Instead, I’m choosing to feel fortunate.
..we live in a time that we can still FaceTime every week!
..that they are mobile and of sound mind.
..they do not need to work so they can keep safe.
..that they are healthy🙏
So even though it sucks not seeing them..
Perspective keeps me grounded.
Remember that when you change the way you look at things..
The things you look at change.
