On the first day of my sales job, I was ECSTATIC.
I could picture all the deals I was going to close..
Then I started cold calling..
My excitement immediately turned into fear as I got rejected.
Fast forward 2 months and I was still struggling.
Every day I asked myself:
“Am I really cut out for sales?”
“Can I really do this?”
“Why am I so bad at this?”
“Should I get a different job in marketing or customer service?”
I blamed my boss for my poor results.
I blamed my company for not providing me training or resources.
I blamed the poor product/market fit.
I blamed the struggling economy.
Fear and self-doubt controlled me.
Until I made a choice.
A choice to take 100% ownership.
To control what I could control.
I started investing time and money into mentors and programs.
I worked harder on myself than at my job.
My results SKYROCKETED.
All due to taking 100% ownership.
100% ownership in my thoughts..
So if you are not where you want to be, you gotta ask yourself:
Have you truly taken 100% ownership?
