One of my favorite 80’s movies is Kickboxer with Jean Claude Van Damme 🥋
In the movie, JCVD’s brother is paralyzed by Tong Po, one of the top Muay Thai fighters in the world.
To avenge his brother, he wants to fight Tong Po.
However, he knows that his current fighting style would not be effective so he seeks out a famous trainer in the jungles of Thailand.
He convinces the trainer to train him in the art of Muay Thai.
Over many months of hard training, he develops the skills to eventually beat Tong Po!
There’s a powerful life lesson here:
JCVD could have tried to figure it out on his own: going to fights, reading books, etc. (no Youtube back then)
Instead, he went the path that would give him the fastest results: he found someone who was an expert at Muay Thai!
As a result, he learned faster and got results faster!
You can apply this to sales as well.
You can try on your own through trial and error.
You may or may not have success.
You may or may not make it.
Or you can learn from those that have made the mistakes and accelerate your learning.
